1. Who we are
DealSpace provides a feasibility appraisal platform for Irish commercial and residential development projects. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, DealSpace is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
2. Data we collect
We collect the minimum data needed to run your account: your email address, and where you choose to sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google returns to us (your name, email address, Google account identifier and profile picture URL). We do not receive or store your Google password, and we do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or contacts. We also store the property records, financial inputs, scenarios and exports you create inside the app, together with basic technical logs such as timestamps and error records needed to keep the Service secure and working.
3. Google OAuth sign-in
If you sign in with Google, Google asks for your consent before sharing anything with us and shows you exactly what will be shared. We use the basic profile data and email address received strictly for account authentication, to identify your workspace and to contact you about your account. We do not use Google-derived data for advertising, profiling, resale or any purpose unrelated to running the Service, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. You can revoke DealSpace's access at any time in your Google Account security settings.
4. Why we process your data, and our legal basis
We process your email address and profile data to perform our contract with you: creating your account, authenticating logins and providing core app functionality. We process your deal data on the same basis, so you can save, retrieve, compare and export your appraisals. We rely on our legitimate interests for a limited set of activities such as securing the platform, preventing abuse and fixing faults, and on your consent where we send optional product updates. Where we are required to retain records for legal or accounting reasons, we rely on legal obligation.
5. How your data is stored and protected
Data is stored in Supabase, hosted within the EU. DealSpace enforces Row Level Security at database level, so your deals, scenarios and portfolio data are strictly isolated to your own account and cannot be read by other users. Access is transmitted over encrypted connections, and internal access is limited to what is needed to operate and support the Service.
6. Sharing and sub-processors
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers acting on our instructions under written data processing terms, namely our hosting and database provider (Supabase), our authentication provider (including Google where you use Google sign-in) and our application hosting provider. Where any transfer outside the European Economic Area occurs, it is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
7. Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account remains open, and your deal data until you delete it or close your account. When you request deletion, we remove your account and associated deal data, retaining only what we must keep for legal, security or accounting purposes, and for a short backup cycle before it is overwritten.
8. Your GDPR rights
You have the right to access your data, to correct inaccurate data, to request erasure, to restrict or object to certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Exercising these rights is free and we respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
9. Cookies and local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember interface preferences such as your square metre or square foot display setting. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product develops, and will update the date below when we do. To exercise your rights, ask a question or raise a concern, please use the Feedback form inside the app.
